This US based site has a wealth of information for patients and professionals and you can sign up for their newsletter giving information on the latest research. The site also has links to other sites selling cancer-fighting supplements.

Cancer Survivor’s Network

Set up by the American Cancer Society – see above. A vibrant community established by people whose lives have been touched by cancer and who hope you’ll find strength and inspiration from their personal stories, discussions and expressions of caring.

CanTeen Ireland

A nationwide support group for young people, aged 12-25, who have or have had cancer, and for their brothers, sisters and friends. CanTeen is associated with the Irish Cancer Society – see below.

Christian Lewis Trust Cancer Care for Children

Offers emotional and practical support to the whole family.

CLICSargent Cancer Care for Children

Charity - from the merger of CLIC and Sargent - providing a range of services to support families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. They can provide practical and financial help and short breaks for families and young people at their specialist centres. They have several regional offices.

Families of Kids with Cancer

Support/discussion board for families of kids with cancer with emphasis on teens.

Group Loop

US based online support for teens with cancer and their parents – allows teens with cancer to ‘connect’ with other teens and forge friendships while battling unwanted aloneness, loss of control and loss of hope associated with the disease.

National organisation providing support for any young person affected by cancer.

Irish Cancer Society

National charity dedicated to preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer through patient care research and education.

Leukaemia Care

Charity caring for sufferers of leukaemia, lymphomas and related disorders.

Light the Night Walk (The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society) 

Walk to build awareness of blood cancers and raise funds for cures. Walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors and red for supporters - to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. In the US and Canada – find your local office by going online.

Macmillan Cancer Relief

Works in partnership with people affected by cancer, and with other organisations such as the NHS and other charities, to deliver their own services and help others to develop theirs. Macmillan nurses can work with cancer patients from the time they are diagnosed.

Maggie’s Centre

Charity helping you adjust to living with cancer. The first Maggie’s Centre was opened in Edinburgh. Further centres have been, and are, are being developed across the UK – find your local one.

National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parents Organisations (NACCPO)

Consists of parent run organisations who have common aims of working together with families and health professionals to support children with cancer.
